Volunteering Helped Job Loss Depression

A couple of months after I lost my job to downsizing, I really felt stuck and started really getting depressed. I decided to get involved in the local animal shelter to add some diversity to my days and get me out of the house! I've really enjoyed it AND have met some new people. I'm still looking for work but wanted to say that getting out into the world to make a difference has helped.
